Strong Families. Strong Community

On any given day, walk into the UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice Family Room and you’ll hear different languages being spoken, smell delicious foods being cooked in the kitchen, see children and parents with different skin colors and styles of dress playing and laughing together, hear songs being sung and music being played.

This little community, situated on the bottom floor of the old St. Joseph’s school in Burlington, is a warm, inviting and fun place to be for people of all ages. It’s a support network focused on creating strong families and a strong, healthy community.

In 2014, UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice collaborated with an independent company to assess the economic impact and value of the human services provided by the UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice’s Family Room and Home Visiting programs. The data that was collected was compiled into a report to highlight the powerful, unique, cost-effective and results-based work being done on a daily basis through these programs at the Family Room. It shows just how much of an impact these services have on the community.  Click here to view the report, Strong Families. Strong Communities.

For more than 25 years, the Family Room has been making a difference in the lives of children and families. And it’s thanks to the financial support of the community that these services can continue to be offered.
