Reinvention, generosity among themes of this pandemic

Reinvention may be one of this pandemic’s overarching themes. One meaningful example is Laura and Eric Sorkin and their crew at Runamok Maple in Fairfax, pictured.

Like so many companies, Runamok pivoted to meet shifting demand as concerns about COVID-19 grew. Runamok and several other Vermont firms continue making the most of expired beer and kombucha to produce high-grade hand sanitizer for front-line workers like ours. They aptly call it “A Spirited Response.”

Our own Barbara Swiatlowski, in blue, is among those staying safe thanks to Runamok’s gift of 24 boxes of handcrafted cleanser. We’re grateful for Runamok’s inventiveness and generosity, and to Clinical Team Manager Martha Brown for coordinating and delivering it.
