‘I come in on my day off, stay longer if needed’

Debbie Mannigan, LNA, care specialist at Home Health & Hospice’s independent living community for adults with permanent disabilities in South Burlington, has been caring for residents there for 13 years. Licensed nursing assistant (LNA) staffing has been a particular challenge across the country, but many staff at Anderson Parkway have worked with each other for years. Although recruitment is a challenge, Debbie considers the staff there as part of her family.

‘We’ve all worked together a long time,” she says.“I come in on my day off, stay longer if needed. We all do. I do it to support my team so they can take a break, have lunch. When we are short and it’s busy, you just don’t have time to do those things.”
