Nurse Joe Haller Shows Dedication to Longitudinal Care Program

Joe Haller, RN

Congratulations to Joe Haller, RN, Complex Care Coordinator, for being nominated as this month’s Employee SpotlightAward recipient! Joe was co-nominated by Todd Patterson, Director of Home Health Services, and Heidi Hill, Ambulatory RN at UVMMC.

Haller recently switched his role at Home Health & Hospice and is working in the Longitudinal Care Program. He works with clients who are at “High Risk” or “Very High Risk” of returning to the hospital following a skilled episode with the Adult Home Health team. According to Patterson, he is the “perfect fit for the position.”

Haller is dedicated to his patients and has exceptional communication skills. While working on a difficult case recently, Haller’s “individualized approach to treatment really made a difference,” says Patterson.

“Throughout all of the changes [in the patient’s medications], Joe made every effort to ensure he was aware of the plan and was updated with changes,” explained Hill. “When speaking to the patient, it was clear he would only trust something if it came from Joe, due to the rapport that was developed between them. Without Joe’s close monitoring and attention to detail, the patient likely would not have completed his therapy appropriately.”

“I feel so honored to be part of the Spotlight award group,” Haller said. “This group represents, to me, those who have dedicated their careers to improving the quality of life of our community through their empathy, compassion, kindness and commitment.”

We’d also like to extend congratulations to this month’s honorary mentions: Nancy Muzzy, AP & Payroll Specialist, and Amber Sanderson, LNA at Anderson Parkway for receiving honorable mentions this month. Keep up the good work, everyone!
