Home Health & Hospice’s 35th Jiggety Jog Surpasses Goal

COLCHESTER, VT — A rainy forecast couldn’t stop supporters of the McClure Miller Respite House from gathering on May 31 for the University of Vermont Health Network – Home Heath & Hospice’s 35th Jiggety Jog. The annual 5K run/walk raises funds to directly support the care of residents at the Respite House.

The 2025 Jiggety Jog included 247 participants and secured 530 donations surpassing the event goal of $125,000. Meeting this goal will provide more than 140 days of care at Vermont’s only Medicare-certified inpatient hospice residence.

Jackson Biunno, with a 18:11 time, earned first place honors with Allen Mead in second place, finishing at 18:13. Jack Tasy-Munroe took third place completing the course in 19:03. Top fundraising teams were Respite House Rockers and the UVM Palliative Care Pacers.

“We are forever grateful for the continued support of this event and the McClure Miller Respite House. A heartfelt thank you goes to all the participants – our top fundraisers Carol Hewitt Bitter and Alice Christian – our Presenting Sponsor, North Country Federal Credit Union, all our incredible sponsors and everyone who had a hand in organizing the 35th Jiggety Jog,” said Director of Development Maya Fehrs. Sponsors of the 2025 event included Pomerleau Foundation, Dick Mazza’s General Store, Vermont Funeral Homes, New England Air Systems, National Life Group, WCAX, KOOL 105.1, 98.9 WOKO, AM1230 WJOY, SymQuest, Hanson + Doremus, Bergeron Paradis & Fitzpatrick, Claussen’s Florist, Greenhouse & Perennial Farm, and Guided Wealth Advisors.
